Healing In Color

About Healing In Color

We are a wellness directory built for BIPOC communities—connecting you with therapists and practitioners who honor your story, identity, and lived experience.

About Healing In Color

Healing In Color is a culturally rooted mental health and wellness directory created to make finding aligned, affirming care simple and accessible. Founded by a licensed mental health professional with over 20 years of experience, Healing In Color was built from lived experience inside the therapy room—witnessing the gap between those seeking support and providers who truly understand their cultural identity, lived realities, and community experiences. We exist to bridge that gap. Healing In Color connects individuals to therapists, psychiatrists, and holistic wellness professionals who honor culture, identity, faith, and lived experience as essential parts of the healing journey—not side notes. Because healing should never require you to explain your humanity first.

A Letter From Our Founder

Healing has always had a presence here.

From the front porches of LaFayette, Alabama — to Healing In Color

I was born and raised in LaFayette, Alabama — a small Southern town where front porches held long conversations, faith anchored families, and community meant showing up for one another without hesitation. In LaFayette, healing didn't always have a name, but it had a presence. It looked like elders praying over you. It sounded like neighbors checking in. It felt like resilience passed down through generations.

That Southern legacy shaped me.

When I began my career more than 20 years ago as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I carried those roots with me. In 2004, I made Atlanta, Georgia my home, but I never left behind the values that raised me — dignity, perseverance, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves to be seen and cared for with respect.

Over the years, I noticed something that deeply moved me: many people were not just searching for therapy — they were searching for recognition. For safety. For a provider who understood the weight of generational trauma, cultural identity, faith traditions, and the strength woven into our communities.

Healing, especially in BIPOC communities, is layered. It is historical. It is spiritual. It is communal. And it deserves to be honored — not overlooked.

Healing In Color was born from both my professional calling and my Southern heritage.

This directory is a bridge. A gathering place. A modern extension of the community care I witnessed growing up — where BIPOC therapists, psychiatrists, reiki practitioners, holistic professionals, and massage therapists can stand fully in their expertise and be found by clients intentionally seeking culturally aligned care.

For too long, too many have felt unseen in wellness spaces. Too many have had to translate their experiences to be understood. Too many have questioned whether care that reflects them even exists.

It does.

Healing In Color is more than a platform. It is legacy work. It is representation in action. It is a commitment to ensuring that healing spaces reflect the richness, resilience, and brilliance of our communities.

Whether you are a provider ready to expand your reach or someone seeking care that feels familiar and affirming — this space was created with you in mind.

Your healing matters. Your story matters. And your care deserves to reflect your culture, your voice, and your legacy.

With faith, purpose, and deep gratitude,

LaShundra Vines
