About Healing In Color

Healing In Color is a culturally rooted mental health and wellness directory created to make finding aligned, affirming care simple and accessible.
Founded by a licensed mental health professional with over 20 years of experience, Healing In Color was built from lived experience inside the therapy room — witnessing the gap between those seeking support and providers who truly understand their cultural identity, lived realities, and community experiences. We exist to bridge that gap.
Healing In Color connects individuals to therapists, psychiatrists, and holistic wellness professionals who honor culture, identity, faith, and lived experience as essential parts of the healing journey — not side notes.
Because healing should never require you to explain your humanity first.

Our Mission

Our mission is to increase access to culturally responsive mental health and wellness care for BIPOC communities by connecting individuals with providers who see them, hear them, and respect the fullness of their identity.

We are committed to:

Normalizing therapy and holistic wellness in communities of color

Increasing visibility for BIPOC providers

Reducing stigma around mental health

Making culturally aligned care easier to find

Healing is not one-size-fits-all. It deserves depth. It deserves safety. It deserves color.

Our Vision

We envision a future where:

Every person can find a provider who reflects or deeply understands their lived experience

Every person can find a provider who reflects or deeply understands their lived experience

Mental health care is accessible, visible, and normalized in communities of color

Holistic and clinical wellness professionals collaborate, not compete

Healing is generational — breaking cycles and building legacy

Healing In Color is more than a directory.

It is a movement toward equity in mental health access.

A Letter From Our Founder

I was born and raised in LaFayette, Alabama—a small Southern town where community, faith, and resilience shaped what healing looked like long before it had a name.

Those roots have guided me throughout my 20+ years as a Licensed Professional Counselor and in my journey to Atlanta, where I’ve continued to witness a deeper need—people aren’t just searching for care, they’re searching to feel seen, understood, and safe.

Because healing in BIPOC communities is layered.

  • It is historical.
  • It is spiritual.
  • It is communal.

Healing In Color was created to honor that.
This platform is a bridge—connecting culturally aligned providers with individuals seeking care that reflects their lived experiences, identity, and voice.

For too long, many have felt unseen in wellness spaces. Healing In Color exists to change that.
This is more than a directory—it’s legacy work. A commitment to representation, connection, and care that truly resonates.

Your healing matters. Your story matters. And you deserve to be seen.

With gratitude,
LaShundra Vines
